Hike for Harefield Hospital
Help me raise £3000 for the Patient's fund
I’d really appreciate it if you make a donation on my fundraising page and share with your family and friends.
The page is set up on the RBHH charity website enabling all donated funds to go to them directly.
A celebration of the gift of life
At the end of August 2024, I’ll be a one year old, double lung transplant recipient. I don’t take this for granted especially having lost some transplant friends in the past year.
I’d love to celebrate this huge milestone by inviting you to hike with me. Life is a precious gift we are all blessed to have.
Where?
We’d hike a mountain called Pen y Fan (The highest peak in South Wales, here in the UK).
It's a part of Bannau Brycheiniog (formerly known as Brecon Beacons) National Park. If you read my story, you’ll understand why Pen y Fan is memorable to me and why I have chosen it.
When?
Saturday 7 September 2024
The hike will begin at 13:00, participants are advised to arrive before or between 12:30 - 12:50
I’m not a climber, not sure I'd cope well
You’ll be in good company. I'm still working on my fitness, so here's the plan:
There will be two hiking groups. The first group will consist of regular hikers who find it easy to climb. They'll go ahead of us and keep going.
We’re the second group, you and me. We’re not regular climbers, but we’ll do this for a good cause ♥️. We'll take our precious time, rest often, and enjoy the stunning views. It might take us twice as long, but we’ll reach the top, and that’s what matters 😊.
We'll make an impact
By taking part in this challenge, you’ll be helping to raise awareness about the life changing impact of organ donation.
I’ll also be looking to raise £3000 for the Harefield Hospital’s Patient’s Fund. This will be in the buildup to the event and after it.
A few perks
The Royal Brompton and Harefield Hospitals charity will be giving a free t-shirt to my first 15 sign ups. I’m also working to get sponsors who can provide some tasty treats and drinks to enjoy after our hike.
